Kicking Goals in New Year 2017

Ready to kick some goals in the New Year? Start here!

This is Part II in an article series I’m writing in the lead up to the New Year.

You can read Part I here.

Stage 2: Planning & Strategy for the New Year

This is the fun part of reflection and planning phase because you’re giving yourself the opportunity to be proactive and start designing the future that you want to turn into your reality.

This stage is all about LOOKING FORWARD and integrating the learnings of the past (the reflection stage).

Here are some ways in which you can begin to design your strategy:

Question what you want in the New Year

This is a great time to ask some future-focused questions that tie in well with your reflection phase.

Sit down and write out the answers to the following questions:

  • What do I want next year to look like?
    • What do I see myself doing?
    • Who am I being?
    • What do I look like?
    • What do I notice around me?
    • Who do I see around me?
  • In what areas of my life do I need to step up?
  • What do I need to invite into my life?
    • For example, is it love, deeper understanding or balance?
  • What do I want to learn next year and/or what skills do I want to acquire?
  • Who do I have to become to make these desired goals a reality?
  • What do I want to do and see next year?
  • What do I have to do to make these desired goals a reality?

These aren’t the easiest questions so you may want to set aside an hour over the weekend.

Start with a meditation first to ground yourself, print off this article and use these questions to begin the planning phase.

Next week we’ll be delving further into this planning phase and we will look at 3 creative ways that you can begin to design your most epic New Year.

I’ll be running a series of Workshops on this topic in early 2017. You can find out more here.
